  • Why do we need change?

    1. It’s time for change – it’s time for the TSSA to prioritise members’ needs first. Let’s give people a reason to stay as a member by improving the service being offered.
    2. It’s time for change – it’s time for transparency so members know how the TSSA is being run. Let’s hold those in power to account, so they answer to you.
    3. It’s time for change – it’s time for the TSSA to professionalise and support our volunteers. Let’s give people the tools and training they need to make your workplace better.
    4. It’s time for change – it’s time for the TSSA to digitise and enter the 21st Century. Let’s have one TSSA that is directly accessible to all members.
    5. It’s time for change – it’s time for the TSSA to stop spending money it doesn’t have. Let’s have a TSSA that still exists in the future.

Unions work, let’s create together a TSSA that works for you.

    FOR TSSA PRESIDENT

  • Why Choose me?

    1. I have already started to improve the TSSA. I won against the EC a conference motion  so the TSSA will now set a sustainable budget. This is just the start of good governance that I will introduce.
    2. I led on a campaign with the General Secretary that got  members a better pay increase.
    3. I was a young member when I became the chair of a Branch. I know the struggles that young members face getting involved and challenging the status-quo. I will continue to seek ways to unblock and remove the unfair barriers for young members
    4. I’ve held volunteer roles in other membership organisations – I will continue to bring in good practice from outside the union movement.
    5. Professionally I have led on transformation and change (for safety). I have manged strategic risks for whole-industry change. Exactly the skills and experience now required to improve the TSSA.

  • My 100 Day Plan

Within the first 100 days of becoming TSSA president, I will:

    1. Instruct the General Secretary to implement an improvement plan to fix the root causes of people leaving the TSSA, to improve service.
    2. Setup a Discord server – Bring together all members to have a coordinated place online to organise and communicate. Let’s end the siloing of members and their voices.
    3. Introduce a performance dashboard – Track and share TSSA performance monthly – linked to what member want from the TSSA.
    4. Rewrite “the rule book” and consult on the proposed changes. Too many rules are unwritten or only known by “those in the know”.
    5. Consult on a new EC, Division and Branch structure. Keep what works and align to GBR.
    6. Give your reps and officers the tools – TSSA email addresses, access to membership data, and case management software, training.
    7. Set a budget that stops TSSA  making a financial loss, by working with the EC.

Unions work, let’s create together a TSSA that works for you.
